Red Oak is one of the most popular North American hardwoods, very strong and durable, also available in quarter-sawn boards from some builders. Quarter-sawn White Oak is very hard, strong and durable. It is frequently called "Tiger Oak" because of the medullar ray fleck and interlocking grain. Popular in Mission Style furniture. |
